The Hub is designed to act as a single point of entry to a comprehensive offer of advisory services and technical assistance. We aim at providing targeted support to identify, prepare and develop investment projects across the European Union.
The Hub consists of three components:
A single point of entry to a range of advisory and technical assistance programmes and initiatives for public and private beneficiaries, provided by experts
A cooperation platform to leverage, exchange and disseminate expertise among partner institutions and beyond
An instrument to assess and address new needs by reinforcing or extending existing advisory services or creating new ones as demand arises
How does the Hub fit in the context of the Investment Plan for Europe (IPE)?
The Hub is one of the pillars of the Investment Plan for Europe, which focuses on:
- removing obstacles to investment
- providing visibility and technical assistance to investment projects
- making smarter use of new and existing financial resources across the EU
To achieve these goals, the plan is active in three areas:
- mobilising investments of at least EUR 315 billion by 2018
- supporting investments in the real economy
- creating an investment-friendly environment
The Hub is part of the second pillar of the IPE; it was launched in September 2015 with Regulation (EU) 2015/1017.
What is the Hub’s relationship with the European Investment Bank Group?
The Hub is a partnership between the EIB Group and the European Commission. Both institutions contribute financially to the initiative. The EIB Group is responsible for the management of the Hub.
The EIB also provides experts to the Hub to deliver the necessary advice.
